There are two types of registration for this year’s conference – Virtual Only, Virtual + In-Person and Virtual + Single Day. The following networking activities will take place onsite at the Hilton Columbus at Easton and are included in Virtual + In-Person and Virtual + Single Day registration types only.


Thursday, July 31

Morning Welcome Coffee

First Time Conference Attendees Meetup

8:00 AM – 9:00 AM

Location: Great Hall South

Will this be your first museum or AMM conference? Swing by to connect with a few conference regulars, gather some tips, and connect with other first-timers during this casual meetup.

Midwest Registrars Committee (MRC) Annual Business Meeting

12:00 – 1:30 PM

Join MRC for lunch and fun at their Annual Business Meeting (location TBA). This lunch meeting is open to current and new members of the Midwest Registrars Committee only. Join or renew your membership with MRC for $10/year at midwestregistrars.org.

Food and beverages will be provided by MRC. Please RSVP during registration.

Lunchtime Networking Roundtable

NOON – 1:00 PM

Location: Great Hall South

Grab your lunch and head to the general session room for a chance to chat with your peers in Collections, Development, Education, Exhibitions, Marketing, and Operations roles. We’ll offer a conversation starter to break the ice, and will let you take the discussion wherever it needs to go from there!

Exhibit Reception

4:00 PM – 5:30 PM

Location: Great Hall North

To celebrate our first big day of sessions, let’s unwind as we enjoy sips and snacks. Explore exhibits, connect with your peers, and chat with poster and conversation station presenters. Or, simply grab a seat and relax!

Friday, August 1

Midwest Museums Recognition Lunch

12:15 PM – 1:30 PM

Location: Great Hall South

For a little midday motivation, we’ll celebrate our colleagues across the Midwest. Enjoy learning about this year’s AMM Awards recipients and help us cheer for our supporters and partners, welcome new members, celebrate AMM Board service, hear special announcements, and recognize all of the people who’ve joined us in Columbus from near and far. Lunch service will begin at Noon. Lunchtime programming will begin at 12:30 PM.

Prize Hour

1:30 PM – 2:30 PM

Location: Great Hall North and Main Concourse

Take a break between our last blocks of sessions for an energizing raffle hour! Attendees who entered to win prizes at exhibitor tables will be announced during this window of time. The rest of us will be there to celebrate your prizes. (Be sure to have your name/raffle ticket turned in before 1:30 PM!) During this break, you can also snag a signed copy of the new book Think Like a Curator, by Donna Braden.
