Three cheers for 2018!
The 2018 Association of Midwest Museums and Illinois Association of Museums Joint Conference was a success! Over 600 museum professionals and students, consultants, suppliers and service providers from Illinois and the Midwest gathered in Chicago to engage in discussions about how museums can earn the trust of their public(s) by building relationships, instituting equitable and inclusive practices, and being active participants in their communities. We also had loads of fun visiting museums across the city during evening events and workshops. To learn more about all of the happenings in Chicago, read the AMM-IAM 2018 Conference Program and explore photos of the conference below. You can also watch videos featuring attendee responses to questions like “Should museums be neutral?” and “What is the future of visitor experience?” collected and produced by our Official Conference Storytellers – Teamworks Media. You can also catch attendees’ responses to questions about their favorite gift shop items, museums on their bucket lists, best movie with a museum in it, and objects they’d like to have on a deserted island.
