Exhibit Professionals Conference Fellowship


AMM and Museum EXP are excited to announce the return of the Exhibit Professionals Conference Fellowship for 2025—and this year we are awarding two!

The Exhibit Professionals Conference Fellowship was created to support the development and advancement of emerging and early career museum professionals working in exhibit disciplines, and we will be awarding an all-inclusive conference experience to two Midwest individuals in 2025 thanks to support from Museum EXP and The Emporium, their awesome exhibit merch site!

Fellowship features:

  • Complimentary registration + 3 evening event tickets to take part in available sessions, networking activities, and museum visits.
  • Opportunity to meet with members of the Museum EXP team and AMM leadership prior to the conference to gather tips and ensure that you have a few familiar faces when you arrive
  • $750 stipend for expenses such as an AMM membership or conference travel costs.
  • Opportunity to introduce yourself, a favorite project, and what you’re excited about during an AMM social media “takeover” prior to the conference or to write for the AMM blog about what you learned about exhibit trends and best practices at the conference.

How to Apply:

Professionals working in any exhibit discipline—design, development, project management, production, curation, etc.—and located in one of the eight Midwest states of the AMM network (IA, IL, IN, MI, MN, MO, OH, WI) are invited to apply by Monday, May 19, 2025.

Apply online using the form linked here. Here’s what we are looking for:

1) Share a portfolio highlight or a recent project/accomplishment you are proud of. Submit the following information:

  • 1 paragraph about the project or accomplishment selected and why you chose it
  • Up to 4 photos that illustrate the project/accomplishment (minimum of 1 photo)
  • Submit all materials in one format – either a PDF, PPT, link to Google Doc or Slides, or link to a page on an online portfolio or website that contains all of the required information

2) Share how attending the conference will benefit you. Consider these questions:

  • How will participation in the conference support your career at this stage and your future goals? 
  • What do you hope to learn or bring back to your organization? 
  • How might attending the conference “fill your well”?

Selection Criteria and Timeline:

Selection Criteria: Applications will be assessed based on completeness of the application, relevance of work/projects featured, and expression of need (financial and/or professional). Applicants will be notified as soon as possible in June.

AMM Membership: Recipients would ideally be AMM members or staff of a member museum, but it is not required. If the applicant is not yet a member, they can use fellowship funds to purchase a membership.
